5 reasons you must visit Bristol, TN/VA at least once

Now that I’ve shared one of my favorite places to visit in my last post – 5 reasons you should visit Vegas at least once , now let’s explore where I grew up… good ole’ Bristol, TN.

Here are 5 reasons you should visit Bristol at least once.

1. State Street

Let’s begin with an infamous starting point. Ever wanted to be in two places at once after watching A Walk to Remember? In Bristol you can literally stand in the state of Tennessee and the state of Virginia at once. If you stand right in the middle of State Street you can place your left foot in Bristol, VA and the right foot in Bristol, TN.

After taking this epic pic, you can enjoy decorating your own pottery at Kil’n Time Ceramics.

While waiting on your pottery, there are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat on State Street.

Here are a few of my faves:

3. Bristol Motor Speedway

A football game like nothing you’ve seen before will be taking place at BMS September 10, 2016. Sponsored by Pilot, Battle at Bristol will be one of the biggest games in the SEC… ever.

4. Rhythm & Roots

Known as the “Birthplace of Country Music”, Bristol hosts an annual music festival filled with bluegrass and country music that traces back to the roots of this small town.

5. Weir Dam / South Holston Lake

This is a beautiful, breath-taking area right in Bristol’s backyard. The area is great for walking, having a picnic, fishing, or going out for a nice day on the lake.

I agree, narrowing it down to just five reasons was pretty tough. This city is a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. I was really impressed with all the new developments including the Pinnacle. The Falls in Bristol, VA is yet another addition that is really neat!
