After getting off work on Friday Chris and I usually either celebrate with dinner, a yummy mixed drink, or both. This is a great way to de-stress after a long work week.. for me it’s work and school though (#gradstudentprobs).
This Friday we ended up at one of our local faves, Soccer Taco. Chris ordered a mango margarita (pictured left) and I ordered a strawberry margarita (pictured right).
Chris decided to order another margarita, but I knew going home to make us another drink would save a ton of money in the long run. The Mai Tai mix was on sale at Publix, so that’s what we went with. If you’re in the mood for the perfect “beachy drink” this drink will do the trick. If you want to make this drink completely from scratch, obviously there is a way to do that by adding about four or five additional ingredients, but using Mai Tai mix is just way easier.
4.5 fl oz Mai Tai Mix
2 1/2 fl oz Light Rum (white, pineapple, or coconut)
1 fl oz Triple Sec
Splash of Grenadine
Stir (or shake) and garnish with cherry
