Shots, Shots, Shots everyybodyy.

When I think of shots, a bar is usually involved. If not a bar, definitely the notorious song Shots by LMFAO.

I wish I could tell you this was going to be a post similar to one of Matt Bellassai, but this won’t involve any alcohol.

In November 2013, Shots app was launched as a safe, bully-free zone for sharing selfies. Recently, the app updated to Shots 5.0 version evolving into what developers are calling a comedy app. It was noticed celebrities were sharing funny moments and the app currently has a separate page just for face-with-tears-of-joy Funny face-with-tears-of-joy. Below you will see an example of the funny page along with an infographic I’ve created to show highlights of this app.

To help some of the more visual learners, the video below will show some of the basic navigation on Shots app. Disclaimer: You will have to excuse the lack of enthusiasm in my voice as my energy level was around 1.5 of 10 being that I recorded this after 4AM in the morning #gradstudentprobs.

Review: The app seems to be geared more toward high-school students, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Thinking back to middle-school and high-school this app would have been pretty neat. However, this app has too much going on. It was originally crafted as a safe way to share selfies in a bully-free zone, but with the most recent update changing the icon image/logo and attempting to market Shots as a comedy app is only going to create confusion in the long run.

I would give this app 3 out of 5 rating.Screen Shot 2016-03-08 at 3.38.08 PM
