Can we talk about this advertisement? To start, I love what Old Navy does with their ads. The newest ad, featuring Elizabeth Banks, aired on primetime Feb. 24. She brings in just the right amount of humor telling the girls on the crosswalk to give her their pants.. she is so serious about it because hey it’s not everyday you come across cute pants right?
The sole purpose of the ad was to not only promote Old Navy (that’s a given), but to let audience viewers know about 40 percent off throughout the entire store. Chandelier Creative did a pretty phenomenal job conveying this message.
Music is something everyone can understand and relate to, and is pretty darn important in the world of advertising. I instantly found a connection with the music selection for this advertisement Save Dat Money by Lil’ Dicky. When this song first launched I was all over it (most likely not the only one). The music video is pretty amazing. David Burd, who is better known by his stage name Lil Dicky, shows throughout his 8 minute plus music video how he gets everything for the set of his video FREE. His music is something the Millennials and Post-Millenials are down with and makes this advertisement even more relatable.
Having Elizabeth Banks take on the role of a fashion stalker isn’t creepy (unless you have no sense of humor); it is genius.
