Way of Thinking: Confidence

One of the most nerve racking moments of my college career was my first public speech for Public Speaking 101. This may seem strange to most people that know me considering my declared major of Speech Communication.  I received a good amount of encouragement from my professor. She was very understanding that not everyone in the class would one day be an infamous public speaker. A take away from the class is confidence that is needed to succeed. Believe in yourself and you’re halfway there.

The classes I’ve taken at the University of Tennessee have tremendously improved the knowledge base and experience of what it takes to maintain confidence. Communication only improves through time and practice. The more I practice my presentation, the more comfortable and confident I felt presenting.
